As one of the world’s largest online communities for gay, bisexual and transgender guys, we do our best to make sure you can access our site and Apps whenever you want.
Unfortunately, over the past couple of months this wasn’t always possible. A series of Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks overloaded our servers and then some of our older machines decided to give up. Ever since, we’ve been doing our best to keep you online but it’s become increasingly clear that we need to do more.
That’s why we’ve been making major improvements to our systems since the beginning of April and this will continue through the end of June.
There’s a lot to do. We’re moving around 250 machines into new racks, replacing old servers, renewing our network layer and taking measures to protect against future DDoS attacks.
We’ll do everything we can to minimize the impact on you, but this is complicated work and (sadly) we’re not above making mistakes. It’s a bit like trying to change tire when your driving full speed down the motorway… Not easy.
Please bear with us as we make PlanetRomeo harder, better, faster, stronger for all our Romeos.
